How to Select a Sieve

How to Select a Sieve

Step 1: Consider sample size, weight, screenability, and range of particle sizes.

Step 2: Determine the required diameter and height of your sieve(s). A full-height, 8" diameter sieve is the most commonly used sieve size. Half-height sieves are ideal for testing small samples, but you must be careful not to spill or overload the sieve. Overloading will reduce accuracy and repeat ability, and will create a longer sieving time.

Step 3: Choose from brass or stainless steel (SS) construction. ISO brass test sieves (200 mm) are also available.
