Current US regulations limit the concentrations of certain phthalates in childcare articles and children’s toys. Laboratories are tasked with the analysis of children’s toys for these potentially hazardous phthalates.

• 9 Regulated Phthalates and BPA Standard is a 5 g ampule which contains 30,000 µg/g (30,000 ppm) of Diisodecyl phthalate and Diisononyl phthalate; and 3,000 µg/g (3,000 ppm) of Bisphenol A, Butylbenzyl phthalate, Di-n-butyl phthalate, Diethyl phthalate, Dimethyl phthalate, Di-n-octyl phthalate, and bis(2-Ethylhexyl)phthalate.
