More About this Item

The ideal device for checking the continuity of wiring, fuses, switches, relays, etc. The bright flashing LED light and loud pulsating beeper provide positive continuity checks in a noisy working environment. The pocket sized device is light enough to be suspended by the attached alligator clip connections. No need to prop it up. Allows hands-free operation. The Continuity Tester Pro can also identify wire pairs or multiple cables remotely by using the external probe. The probe's bi-color LED light will flash green or red depending on polarity. Can be used to label and identify up to three cables with only one trip to the end location -cuts down on multiple trips back and forth.

  • Q:

I'm interested in the CT20 continuity tester, EW-26046-33, to check grounding of our equipment. Can this be used for that and how long are the wires?
    Thanks

      A:

Using just the tester (without probe) you can easily test any in-wall wiring from point to point locations in the same room. Other handy uses are to quickly test light bulbs, fuses, switches, relay contacts, diodes, low ohm power resistors, circuit breakers, etc. for electrical continuity.
Remote continuity is a different mode of usage for the Tester and requires the Remote Probe. This mode is primarily used for:
      A. remote verification of continuity for cable/wires, or
      B. individual cable/wires for identification and labeling. Properly used, the Tester with Remote Probe will eliminate numerous trips when testing cable TV, electrical
cables, and speaker/telephone wiring in multi-room/multi-floor installations.
