Comments about Masterflex L/S Easy-Load II Head w/ Adj Occlusion for Precision Tubing:

We use this product in our R&D lab almost every day. We purchased it for a specific test where we required extreme accuracy over a wide flow rate range with minimal pressure fluctuation for a highly sensitive fluid. We found it to function so well that we replaced almost all the pumps in the lab with the Masterflex system.

Comments about Masterflex L/S Easy-Load II Head w/ Adj Occlusion for Precision Tubing:

This pump head is the best of the easy load series. It doesn't chew up the tubing like the others. It also has enough force to pump against gravity, even with a very viscous substance. [...] It was a wild guess on my part to pick the Easy-Load 2 w/ adjustable occulusion. [...]

      • Q:

I want to pump exactly 153.83 mL of TDI within a few seconds. Will this handle that? And, what tube should I use?
We already bought the L/S drive system with a multichannel 7535-04 that based on basic tests with water is too slow and I only get 100mL when set for 154 volume

        • STAFF EXPERT

          A:

With the largest compatible tubing, LS18, one can achieve 38.3mL/sec. For significantly greater flow rates, the IP systems are necessary.

      • Q:

does adjusting the occlusion impact flow rate?

        1 answer

        • STAFF EXPERT

          A:

Adjusting the occlusion will not impact the flow rate. It will impact the life of the tubing as well as the performance in pressure/vacuum applications.

      • Q:

Which occlusion level should I use for L/S 16 tubing?
        Asked on 12/15/2015 by Sam

        1 answer

        • STAFF EXPERT

          A:

The occlusion level depends on more than tubing size. For nominal performance you can keep it at level four. For longer tubing life but less pressure/vacuum in the application you can use 2 or 3. For increased pressure/vacuum you should use 5, this will however reduce tubing life.

      • Q:

Can this generate a constant flow with 16 tubing at volume flow rate of 6.4 mL/min ?
Asked on 5/8/2014 by bob from Tokyo, Japan

        1 answer

        • STAFF EXPERT

          A:

This pump head with the L/S 16 size tubing will provide a max flowrate of 80 mL/min with a pump drive capable of a maximum of 100 RPM and a max flowrate of 480 mL/min with a pump drive capable of a maximum of 600 RPM. This is based on the fluid being pumped being water. Depending on the fluid being pumped there may be some variations. Also please note that although the flow will be continuous it will be a pulsed flow as this is the nature of any peristaltic pump.
