These units are sometimes used for this purpose. The usual application would require a known frequency specification. Please contact us at 800-323-4340 and let us know your frequency requirements.

    • A:

This is actually a gauss meter. It detects the strenght of magnetic fields emitted from electrical appliances. It seems to have been pronounced by others as ghost meter and spelled by some suppliers as such. To answer your question directly yes it is the same as what the tv is portraying.

  • Q:

I am looking for a gauss meter that can be used in my home to detect harmful EMF's emitted from my WiFi, cordless phones, etc. Would this meter be a good choice for me?

      A:

Assuming the amount of EMF you experience with these devices falls into the meter's range, yes, this product will work. You may want to look at a tri-axis gauss meter, such as part number: 26045-47 instead. It makes measurements much easier to take, as you do not have to physically orient the meter differently to record an accurate measurement. Please contact our technical application specialists for additional assistance (contact information can be found in the "contact us" section on the web page).
