More About this Item

These vacuum filtration funnels are disposable plastic funnels that contain a membrane for filtration of solvents, buffers, media, and other laboratory solutions.
The sterile polystyrene housing material funnels all have an asymmetric PES membrane material, which is low binding and surfactant free. These funnels are available in five different capacities. The smaller 15- and 50-mL funnels can be used in conjunction with a centrifuge tube. The larger 250-, 500-, and 1000-mL funnels come with the upper funnel and dust cap. Available in two pore size options. The 0.1 um pore size is mycoplasma filter grade and the 0.45 um filter is clarification grade.
The polypropylene housing material funnels are designed to withstand the harsh solvents that would normally degrade polystyrene. The GL45 thread fits most laboratory bottles. Choose from three membrane materials. The PES membrane exhibits low protein binding and extractables, and is faster than nylon. The nylon membrane is naturally hydrophobic, has low extractables, and is best used with solutions containing little or no protein. The PTFE membrane is naturally hydrophobic and has great chemical compatibility, making it exceptional for filtering aggressive solvents.
