Cole Parmer UK offers centrifugal pumps at high flow rates, low pressures, and pulseless flow at a low price—they’re ideal for your general transfer applications. Cole-Parmer centrifugal pump range offers flow rates for clean liquids (no particulates) up to 2200 LPM and pressures up to 25 bar. The range includes low cost centrifugal pumps for water transfer and chemically resistant models for highly corrosive chemicals.

The simple design of a centrifugal pump means quick installation, low maintenance, and easy repair. Most centrifugal pumps must be gravity fed or utilized with a priming chamber; some are self-priming. You can control the flow rate by restricting the flow at the outlet with a nozzle or valve, and in most cases, you can restrict the outlet indefinitely without damaging the pump. However, centrifugal pumps should not be run dry.

Use Cole-Parmer’s on-line catalogue to find and compare pump specifications. Alternatively contact our Application Specialists for free technical support and let us bring over 50 years of pumping experience to help solve your application needs.

Key Points for centrifugal pumps
Cole-Parmer offer a choice of direct mounted or magnetically coupled centrifugal pumps:
  • A magnetic drive pump operates with a magnetic field that couples the impeller and motor together. There are no shafts or seals connecting the impeller and motor. Therefore friction loss, wear, contamination and leakage caused by these shafts and seals are eliminated.
  • A mechanically coupled centrifugal pump utilizes a rotating impeller driven by a shaft with a seal that is connected to the motor. They are often less expensive than magnetic drive and can achieve high flow-rates and pressures.
Advantages for centrifugal pumps
  • Fluid transfer at high flow rates, low pressure
  • Available in a range of materials
  • Excellent pulseless flow
  • Electric driven and suitable for continuous duty
Typical Application for centrifugal pumps
  • General fluid transfer
  • Pilot plant processing
  • Line cleaning/irrigation
  • Filtration of corrosives, caustics, dyes, soaps, brines, and other cleaning fluids
  • Feed pumps for spraying systems
  • Cooling tower transfer
  • Filling/draining
