  • Gauge is ideal for both field and laboratory applications
  • Measures vacuum from 0 to 12000 microns in seven user-selectable units—microns, psi, inches of mercury (in Hg), Torr, milliTorr, millibars, and Pascals
The multi-line LCD features a bar graph that indicates the direction of the vacuum— movement from left to right indicates increasing pressure and in the opposite direction indicates decreasing pressure. Gauge includes an auxiliary port that allows for quick cleaning and drying of the sensor. Use the built-in hanger for added versatility in mounting. Auto shutoff feature turns gauge off after ten minutes when vacuum reads above 12,000 µ (12 Torr). Operates on one 9 V battery (not included).

  • Q:

What calibration data is provided with the unit? Is NIST standard or additional?
    Asked on 1/28/2012 by Anonymous

      A:

This item is sold/intended to be used as a service truck test gauge, and not as a scientific meter. Factory calibration is done at the assembly level, and NIST calibration is not necessary for a micron gauge of this type/normal use. This item cannot be calibrated to NIST.

  • Q:

Is it adequate to measure vaccum in the order of 300 to 500 microns of mercury? What does it mean "0" Pa or wich is the lowet vacuum it can be measured and with wich resolution?
    Asked on 8/9/2011 by Anonymous

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

500 microns is equivalent to about 65 Pa. 300 Microns is equivalent to 40 Pa. This can read 0-12000 microns or 0-1600 Pascals. Resolution is 1 micron, so there will be nothing past the decimal point. So yes, this unit can read in that range, whether it is adequate with an accuracy of +/-10% is based on your needs.

  • Q:

Hi I need a digital vacuum gauge with a range of -30inHg, to check and verify my vacuum transducer reading. Is this suitable for the job?

      A:

The accuracy of this unit is 10%, I am not sure that you would want to base the accuracy of other readings off of it.

  • Q:

can I use this to tune the carbs on my motorbike
Asked on 1/12/2011 by Alan from Philippines

    1 answer

    • STAFF EXPERT

      A:

This gauge is used to measure a vacuum. Though it may vary depending on your bike and how you are tuning the carbs, my understanding is that you would be testing for a differential or positive pressure, but not vacuum.

  • Q:

Can I use this with a mixture of gases at a very low pressure of the range 0.1 mbar to 200 mbar?
Asked on 10/21/2010 by Ram from Bangalore, India

    1 answer

    • STAFF EXPERT

      A:

Yes. As long as the gases in your system are compatible with brass, the pressure range is within the limits of the gauge.
