Spatulas & Stir Rods

A lab spatula has many uses including: scooping and spreading. Micro is a lab spatula that is excellent for handling extremely small samples. A PTFE coated lab spatula is ideal for handling chemicals. A nickel or stainless steel spatula is versatile and when coated with PP they feature excellent chemical and heat resistance. A lab spatula may be single use, sterile and non-sterile. There are also a myriad of stirring rods. These vary in length, tip shape and materials. The ones coated with PP and PTFE are autoclavable and provide excellent heat resistance 266°F (130°C for PP and 550°F (287°C) for PTFR. PE/Steel offers excellent chemical resistance and temp resistance -58 to 176°F (-50 to 80°C). Glass rods use soft borosilicate glass, offer chemical resistance and can withstand temperatures to 400°F (205°C). Many have policemen to help transfer liquids or clear out precipitate.
